Christine Campbell
15 George St (Church)
Christine grew up in SW Ontario, and was drawn to surrounding forests and fields as a child. Winters spent on the ski hills also created a lasting bond which inevitably influenced her love of the Canadian landscape.
Drawn to the interaction between colour, line, and shape that define simple spaces, Christine’s motivation is to economically record only the essential elements of her subject matter. She has been inspired throughout her travels abroad, but most notably it is her rural surroundings that ignite her passion to paint.
In a world full of endless noise, her work leaves us with a sense of well-being and peace.
Artist Biography:
Christine earned degrees in Art History, Fine Art, Religion and Education from Queen’s University. She works in both acrylic and watercolour mediums out of her home studio in Perth County. She credits influences from the Group of Seven, and her work has been likened to that of artist Ted Harrison. Her artwork can be found in private collections across North America, Europe, and elsewhere.
